Czechia to build AI factory and supercomputer in Ostrava

Czechia will establish its own factory for artificial intelligence development, the Czech AI Factory (CZAI), whose core will be a new AI supercomputer in Ostrava, university spokeswoman Jana Dronská told the Czech News Agency on Friday. The project, led by the Technical University of Ostrava, will cost about CZK one billion and was selected in a European call to create AI factories under the EuroHPC Joint Undertaking.

CZAI and the new supercomputer, named KarolAIna, will support small and medium-sized businesses, industry, public institutions, and research organizations, helping to boost the development and adoption of artificial intelligence across the country.
