Czechia and Hungary consider co-hosting 2029 Ice Hockey World Championships
Czechia and Hungary are considering co-hosting the 2029 Ice Hockey World Championships, with the group stage matches taking place in Brno, where a new multifunctional arena is due to open in two years. The centre of the championship would be Budapest, which only has one suitable arena.
In an interview for Kometa Brno's website, the presidents of both national associations, Alois Hadamczik and Zsuzsanna Kolbenheyer confirmed their interest in cooperation. However, the final decision depends on the approval of Hungary’s candidacy by the International Ice Hockey Federation.
The agreement does not require Czechia to co-host any future championship with Hungary in the event of a successful candidacy.
