Czechia aims to employ more qualified workers from abroad
The Fiala government has moved to address the shortage of qualified workers in various sectors of the Czech economy. It approved a proposal by the Ministry of Industry and Trade to increase quotas for foreign workers from third countries by 20,000 as of 2024. This should help IT companies, hospitals and construction firms, which are short of skilled workers either due to a lack of specialists in the field or because Czechs are less interested in the given field of work. The move is expected to boost economic growth and increase state budget revenues.
