Czech veteran Tomáš Lom, who served in the Royal Air Force (RAF) during the World War II, has died at the age of 96.

Born Tomáš Löwenstein into a Jewish family in Prague, he enlisted in London the moment he turned 18 and ended up serving as a wireless operator in the Bahamas in the latter period of the conflict.
