Czech unemployment rises slightly to 3.6 percent

Unemployment in the Czech Republic rose by 0.1 percent to 3.6 percent in January, according to figures released on Tuesday by the national Labour Authority.

Over a quarter of a million people were out of work last month. However, the number of unfilled positions was more than 80,000 higher.

Unemployment usually rises in January as seasonal work declines.
