Czech theatre piece on daily life in war-torn Ukraine to appear in Vancouver
The theatre essay ‘Eight Short Compositions from the Lives of Ukrainians for a Western Audience,’ directed by Jana Svobodová, will be presented at the PuSh International Performing Arts Festival 2026 in Vancouver. Czechia is among 17 countries whose work will be showcased.
The production was developed in collaboration between Archa – Centre for Documentary Theatre and Lviv’s Jam Factory Art Center as part of the international Artists in War project, and premiered in March 2023 at Prague’s Archa Theatre.
The female performers, who bring to life the texts of Ukrainian writer Anastasiia Kosodii, will appear in Vancouver on January 22 and 23.
