Czech tennis team advances to Davis Cup finals
Czech tennis players defeated the United States 3–2 in the second round of Davis Cup qualifying to advance to the final tournament of the world’s top eight teams. The decisive point came from 20-year-old Jakub Menšík, who beat American Frances Tiafoe 6–1, 6–4 on the hard courts of Delray Beach. The Czechs, who won the team competition in its old format in 2012 and 2013, are back in the quarterfinals for the first time in two years. The final tournament will take place November 18–23 in Bologna, Italy.
