Czech Television: Health Minister Blatný to be replaced within a fortnight

Czech Television claims Prime Minister Andrej Babiš is poised to take over supervision of the Health Ministry and aims to replace Minister Jan Blatný within a fortnight.

According to the national broadcaster, Blatný may be replaced by his predecessor Roman Prymula, who has been attending recent meetings of the government.

The prime minister has been increasingly critical of Mr. Blatný’s performance in office, particularly over poor communication.

A number of leading experts have also left the ministry under Jan Blatný, who took up the post three months ago.

Roman Prymula was sacked after being seen leaving a restaurant that should have been closed under the restrictions imposed.

Mr. Babiš has refused to comment on the speculation.
