Czech Technical University hit by cyberattack
The Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU) has been targeted by a cyberattack, forcing it to take some of its systems offline. The university said on Thursday that it had managed to stop the attack and was working to resolve the problem and restore its services.
According to CTU, the incident is linked to a global wave of attacks targeting websites that use the PHP programming language, following the disclosure of critical security vulnerabilities.
The Czech Government Office temporarily took its website offline on Wednesday because of the same vulnerabilities.
CTU said some of its systems would remain unavailable until a solution was found. The university has not specified which services have been affected or when they are expected to be restored.
