Czech research team wins European Citizen's Award for respirator prototype

The research team of the Czech Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of the Czech Technical University in Prague has won the European Citizen's Award for 2020.

It is one of 30 individuals, firms and civil groups from all member states of the European Union to gain special recognition.

The laureates are traditionally selected by a jury made up of MEPs, representatives of civil society and youth organizations.

The Czech team developed a prototype of an advanced respirator (CIIRC RP95-3D) printable on 3D printers, and made it widely available, making a significant contribution to the fight against COVID-19.
