Czech Republic joins Christchurch Call

The Czech Republic has joined the Christchurch Call to eliminate terrorist and violent extremist content online. Prime Minister Andrej Babis announced the news on Twitter saying that the initiative is an important step on the way to creating a free, open and secure internet for all users.

The call for governments, tech companies and NGOs emerged in response to the terrorist attack against two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, in 2019 which was streamed live. 51 people were killed and 50 injured and the live stream was viewed some 4,000 times before being removed.
