Czech Republic falls five places in international corruption index

The Czech Republic has slipped five places on an international index of corruption perception conducted by Transparency International, a watchdog organisation. The country came 49th in the world in the 2020 edition of the annual table, which was issued on Thursday.

This continues a trend for the Czech Republic, which in the previous edition fell by six places in the index, which tracks perceived corruption in 180 states around the world.
