Czech Republic braces for new heatwave, temperatures to reach 39°C
A brief cooldown over the weekend will be followed by another heatwave from Monday, with temperatures expected to climb to as high as 39 degrees Celsius and remain elevated for several days.
The Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ) has warned that most of the country will face a very high to extreme heat burden. Temperatures have exceeded 35°C across the country in recent days, setting new local records in many areas.
The risk of wildfires remains elevated across most of the Czech Republic, with southern Moravia continuing to face a very high fire danger.
