Czech President Petr Pavel discusses cybersecurity in New Zealand
During his visit to New Zealand, Czech President Petr Pavel emphasized shared concerns over cyber threats and disinformation, with Europe facing challenges mainly from Russia, while New Zealand focusing on activities linked to China.Following discussions with representatives of New Zealand's National Security Department on strategies to counter these threats, Mr. Pavel announced that New Zealand cyber defense experts would visit Czechia next year.The Czech head of state also held talks with Prime Minister Christopher Luxon and Defence Minister Judith Collins, focusing on cybersecurity, industrial and trade cooperation, and security in the region. The president identified opportunities for collaboration in cyber defense, aerospace production, and space exploration and stressed the need for joint efforts to uphold global security and shared values.
