Czech president calls on US to give Europe more time to ensure Continent’s security

President Petr Pavel has called on the United States to give Europe more time to ensure the continent’s security and deter an increasingly aggressive Russia. He made the appeal during an interview with Bloomberg Television. In the interview, Pavel said that European countries cannot secure lasting peace in Ukraine without American support, and acknowledged that U.S. President Donald Trump has the right to demand that Europe significantly increase its defense spending. However, he noted that it would take years to replace some of the defense mechanisms currently provided by Washington.
