Czech politicians congratulate newly-formed Israeli government

Czech Foreign Minister Jakub Kulhánek has congratulated incoming Israeli Prime Minister Naftali Bennett after an alliance of parties survived a vote of confidence in the Israeli parliament on Sunday, officially ousting Benjamin Netanyahu from office.

Mr Kulánek described Israel as the Czech Republic’s closest ally in the Middle East, "with whom we share a rich history and deep friendship." The Czech diplomatic chief said he was looking forward to working with Foreign Minister Yair Lapid and hoped to welcome him in Prague soon.

Prime Minister Andrej Babiš has also expressed his congratulations on the formation of new Israeli government.
