Czech police launch random border checks after Vienna terror attack

The Czech police launched random checks on the border with Austria on Monday night following a terrorist attack in Vienna. The checks were targeted at vehicles and passengers on border crossings with Austria and were described by police as a preventive measure.

In addition patrols were stepped up at major Jewish sites in the Czech Republic, after reports that the Vienna attack took place in proximity to a synagogue in the city.
