Czech PM to visit Slovakia next week in first foreign trip

Czech Prime Minister Petr Fiala will visit Slovakia in his first foreign visit as head of government next Tuesday, the Czech News Agency reports. He will meet with his Slovak counterpart Eduard Heger, as well as with the country’s President Zuzana Čaputová and the Slovak head of Parliament Boris Kollár.

The Czech and Slovak prime ministers are set to discuss the situation on the eastern border of the European Union, the Western Balkans and further expansion of the EU. The union’s Green Deal and the upcoming Czech EU presidency will also be a subject of talks.

Slovakia is traditionally the first destination to visit for newly incumbent Czech prime ministers and presidents.
