Czech PM, German President discuss bilateral relations, Covid, Afghanistan
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš received German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier in Prague on Friday. Among the topics discussed were bilateral relations, the coronavirus pandemic and the situation in Afghanistan.
Steinmeier is midway into a three-day state visit to the Czech Republic. On Thursday, he met with his Czech counterpart, Miloš Zeman, and the speakers of both houses of Parliament and honoured the memory of the Czechoslovak paratroopers who died in Operation Anthropoid to assassinate Reich Protector Reinhard Heydrich.
On Friday afternoon, Steinmeier also visited the Institute of Informatics, Robotics and Cybernetics of the Centre for Higher Technical Studies in Prague and an exhibition on Czech-German coexistence in Ustí nad Labem.
