Czech PM attends Bled Strategic Forum in Slovenia
Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš flew to Slovenia this Wednesday to attend the annual Bled Strategic Forum.
Ahead of his flight the prime minister said that the European Union does not have clear strategies when it comes to combating illegal migration or Balkan expansion. According to Mr Babiš, the EU will need to negotiate with Turkey when it comes to containing illegal migrant flows. He that the Schengen Zone – Europe’s free movement area – was not functional during the 2015 Migrant Crisis. The Czech government has repeatedly proposed expanding Schengen to Romania, Bulgaria, Croatia and Serbia, the prime minister said.
Hundreds of influential political representatives, business leaders, think tanks and NGOs gather annually in Bled, Slovenia, to discuss contrasting opinions on modern society and its future with a special focus on Europe.
