Czech National Heritage Institute files constitutional complaint over Opočno Chateau ruling

The National Heritage Institute has filed a constitutional complaint against the Supreme Court’s decision to return part of the Eastern Bohemian Opočno Chateau’s inventory to the Colloredo-Mansfeld family. The complaint was submitted in January after the court’s ruling last October, which sided with the family.

Chateau caretaker Tomáš Kořínek confirmed the move, explaining that the National Heritage Institute had to exhaust all legal options. The 2021 court decision settled the ownership of the chateau in favour of the state, but the issue of the inventory remains unresolved.
