Czech model Tereza Hlůšková, who is serving an eight year jail sentence in Pakistan for drug smuggling has been acquitted of the charges against her and will be released in the next few days, the Czech Foreign Ministery announced, citing her lawyer. Hlůšková, who was 22 when she was jailed for attempting to smuggle heroin out of the country in 2019, was acquitted by the Lahore Court of Appeal on Monday after repeatedly appealing the verdict. She claims from the beginning that she came to Pakistan as a model and that someone placed the drugs in her suitcase.
