Czech model jailed in Pakistan for carrying drugs expected to return home next week
The Czech Ministry of Foreign Affairs expects Tereza Hlůšková, the Czech model sentenced to prison in Pakistan after she was found carrying 9kg of heroin at Lahore Airport in 2018, to return to the Czech Republic towards the end of the next working week. Foreign Ministry officials are also ready to organise accommodation for the young woman before she leaves Pakistan, spokeswoman Eva Davidová told the Czech News Agency on Wednesday.
Hlůšková, who was 22 when she was jailed for attempting to smuggle heroin out of the country in 2019, was acquitted by the Lahore Court of Appeal on Monday after repeatedly appealing the verdict. She claims from the beginning that she came to Pakistan as a model and that someone placed the drugs in her suitcase.
