Czech lower house speaker Pekarová Adamová to visit Taiwan in March

The speaker of the Czech lower house, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, plans to visit Taiwan at the end of March. The TOP 09 party leader will be accompanied by a delegation of entrepreneurs and others, her spokesperson said on Wednesday.

The speaker of the Senate, Miloš Vystrčil, visited Taiwan in 2020, sparking protests from China.

Earlier this week the Beijing government were also critical of a phone call made by Czech president-elect Petr Pavel to Taiwan’s president, Tsai Ing-wen.
