Czech lower house speaker calls for 1997 NATO-Russia founding act to be revoked
The head of the Czech lower house of Parliament, Markéta Pekarová Adamová, has called for the 1997 NATO-Russia founding act to be revoked. Signed at a NATO summit in Paris, the founding act was meant to provide the basis for “an enduring and robust partnership between the NATO alliance and Russia”. Pekarová Adamová also expressed support for Ukraine’s admission to NATO, saying that the country was fighting for Western values and contributing to Western security as no other and deserved to be allowed to join the alliance.
