Czech juniors beat Denmark for first win at World Championship

Czech ice hockey players defeated Denmark 7–2 at the World Junior Championship in Minneapolis to secure their first win of the tournament. The defending bronze medalists scored three times on the power play. Defenceman Tomáš Galvas recorded one goal and two assists, while goaltender Matyáš Mařík delivered a solid performance.

Coach Patrik Augusta’s team lost their opening Group B game to favourites Canada 5–7 but did not falter in their second outing. The Czech team will next face Finland on Monday at 21:30 CET.
