Czech intelligence warning of potential risks of war veterans with post-war traumas
Czech intelligence officials are warning of a potentially dangerous scenario in which thousands of Ukrainian war veterans could head to the Czech Republic to join their families after the end of the war in Ukraine. They say that some veterans with post war traumas could pose a serious security risk. Interior Minister Vít Rakušan previously said that no more Ukrainians would be granted temporary protection after the war ends, so family reunifications would have to take place in accordance with the law on the residence of foreign nationals.
According to the Interior Ministry, there are more than 399,000 refugees from Ukraine in the Czech Republic, including more than 170,000 women aged between 18 and 65.
