Czech hospitals running out of Remdesivir

Czech hospitals are running out of the drug Remdesivir prescribed for serious cases of Covid-19, Czech Radio reported on Monday citing a source from Prague’s Faculty Hospital.

Health Minister Roman Prymula said the ministry was negotiating a fresh delivery from Gilead Sciences by the end of this week.

The head of the Czech branch of Gilead Sciences Pavel Březina confirmed that the company was trying to secure a delivery for the Czech Republic by the end of September.

There are currently close to 200 Covid-19 patients in serious condition in Czech hospitals.
