The Czech hockey team defeated Denmark 4–1 in their opening game at the World Championship

The Czech hockey team has made a winning start to the World Championship in Switzerland. In Group B in Fribourg, they beat last year’s semifinalists Denmark 4–1. The players coached by Radim Rulík already had a two-goal lead midway through the opening period. Their next opponents will be Slovenia on Saturday, with the game starting at 8:20 p.m.
