Czech has most per capita Ukrainian refugees with temporary protection status

Czechia has the most per capital Ukrainian refugees with temporary protection status in the whole of the European Union, the Czech Ministry of the Interior said on Thursday, citing Eurostat.

At the end of last year there were over 3.8 million refugees from the war in Ukraine in the EU. Germany and Poland each had about a quarter of that number, while Czechia was third, with an 11-percent share.

Temporary protection visas give the refugees access to health insurance, education and the labour market.
