Czech government spending on Ukraine aid surpasses CZK 91 billion, revenues exceed costs

The Czech government’s spending on aid to Ukraine since the start of Russia’s invasion totals CZK 91.3 billion, outgoing Prime Minister Petr Fiala said after a cabinet meeting on Thursday.

State revenues linked to this aid exceed the costs by CZK 12.7 billion, with 79 billion coming from social and health insurance and taxes, and 25 billion from military assistance compensation, he added.

Mr. Fiala also emphasizes that support for Ukraine has been financially sustainable while also highlighting the importance of justice, security, and solidarity with Ukraine. He expressed gratitude to everyone involved in providing aid since the conflict began in 2022.
