Czech government rejects EU migration pact and ETS 2, appoints Kmoníček as national security advisor

The first regular meeting of Prime Minister Andrej Babiš’s government took place on Tuesday, following its appointment by President Petr Pavel on Monday.

The cabinet rejected the EU migration pact and the ETS 2 carbon trading system, which covers emissions from fuel use in buildings and road transport.

Diplomat Hynek Kmoníček, formerly ambassador to Vietnam, was appointed national security advisor, coordinating state security and defense and representing the prime minister in international talks.
