Czech government plans to approve 2022 budget next week

The Czech government should approve a state budget for 2022 on Wednesday next week, the minister of finance, Zbyněk Stanjura, said on Tuesday. The coalition cabinet envisages cuts of CZK 80 billion in expenditures this year and a budget deficit of CZK 280 billion.

It plans to put its proposal to the lower house by the end of March.

The tripartite, comprising government, employers and unions, is set to discuss the budget on Wednesday.

The state has been operating under a provisional budget since the turn of the year.
