Czech government ends fuel price caps

The Czech government has decided not to extend fuel price regulation, ending a measure that has capped petrol and diesel prices since April. The price ceilings will expire on Sunday, with fuel prices returning to market-based pricing from Monday.

Finance Minister Alena Schillerová (ANO) said the extraordinary market conditions that prompted the measure had passed. She added that the Finance Ministry would continue to closely monitor fuel prices and retailers' profit margins.
