Czech firefighters set out to help with firefighting efforts to Spain

Czech firefighters flew out on Monday afternoon to provide further assistance in fighting fires abroad, this time to Spain. Onboard a Black Hawk helicopter equipped with a Bambi bucket for water drops are three firefighters, along with two pilots and two technicians from the helicopter’s private operator. This was announced by Lucie Pipiš, spokesperson for the General Directorate of the Fire Rescue Service of Czechia, to ČTK. They departed from Přerov at 1:00 PM. This summer, Czech firefighters have already been involved in responding to large-scale natural fires in several European countries and have also assisted after floods in the USA.
