Czech experts: Covid vaccine could arrive in spring
Czech experts believe a vaccine against Covid-19 could become available in the country next April, Mladá fronta Dnes reported on Wednesday. Following the news that Pfizer had developed a vaccine against the virus, the chairman of the Czech Vaccinology Society, Roman Chlíbek, told the daily that it would first be received by risk groups, as set out in the official government strategy.
Molecular biologist Libor Grubhoffer said that he believed the first Czechs would get shots for the coronavirus in April. Blanket vaccinating for all could become possible in about a year, he said.
Epidemiologist Roman Prymula, a former health minister, said he did not expect a vaccine to appear in the country before the end of the first quarter of 2021.
