Czech electricity production rises for first time since 2021

Clean electricity production in Czechia increased last year for the first time since 2021, according to the 2025 report by the energy industry website oEnergetice.cz. Domestic power sources generated a total of 71.4 terawatt-hours of electricity, a year-on-year rise of 3.8 percent.

The growth was driven mainly by nuclear power plants, while increased output was also recorded from solar energy. According to the report, electricity generation from coal remained flat last year, but has fallen by 28 percent over the past three years. At the same time, electricity consumption is rising, while prices are declining.
