Czech Egyptologists in Abusir discover tomb of royal scribe
Czech Egyptologists who have been working on a burial site in Abusir are reported to have discovered a richly decorated shaft tomb of the previously unknown dignitary Djehutiemhat, who served as a royal scribe, the Czech Institute of Egyptology reported. An anthropological analysis of the skeletal remains by leading Egyptian experts revealed, among other things, that Djehutiemhat died at a relatively young age of about 25 and suffered from severe osteoporosis. The discovery of the tomb, which was looted, is important for further understanding the history of ancient Egypt and its traditions, the Czech Institute of Egyptology said on its website.
