Czech economy up by 7.8 year-on-year in 2Q
The Czech economy grew by 7.8 percent year-on-year in the second quarter and increased by 0.6 percent compared to the first quarter, according to data released by the Czech Statistics Office on Friday. The increase was driven by foreign demand and increased household consumption following the easing of coronavirus restrictions. The year-on-year increase in GDP exceeded the largest year-on-year increase on record, from the second quarter of 2006, which amounted to 7.5 percent.
