Czech defense minister on working visit to Sweden

Czech Defense Minister Jana Černochová is on a working visit to Sweden, where she is holding talks with her Swedish counterpart Pål Jonson. The Czech defense minister is also inspecting the first CV90 infantry fighting vehicles made for the Czech Army. The Czech government approved the purchase of 246 vehicles for 59.7 billion crowns in May 2023, under an intergovernmental agreement with Sweden. The army is expected to receive the first ten vehicles next year, with deliveries continuing until 2030. The first 39 units will be produced in Sweden, with production of the remaining 207 to be moved to the Czech Republic. With the new armored vehicles, the Czech Republic will also obtain a license for their maintenance and production. More than 20 Czech defense industry companies are involved in the project.
