Czech cyclist Roman Kreuziger announces end of career

Czech road-racing cyclist Roman Kreuziger has announced the end of his career at the age of 35. One of the Czech Republic's all-time best road riders retired after 16 seasons in professional cycling. He was fifth at the Tour de France in 2013 and sixth at the championships in Innsbruck three years ago.

Kreuziger decided to quit despite an offer of a one-year contract from Gazprom-RusVelo, whose colours he rode in this season, saying that he didn’t get the results he was used to. However, he will remain in cycling as the sporting director of Bahrain Victorious.
