Czech cyber security body issues TikTok warning

The National Cyber and Security Information Agency has described the TikTok social media application as a security threat. The agency said on Wednesday that the Chinese-produced app should not be installed on devices owned by people with access to critical information infrastructure systems and other important information systems.

Officials also said that the Czech public should weigh up using the app and think about what they share on it.

Agency chief Lukáš Kintr said the amount of data being collected and handled, combined with the legal environment in China and the growing number of users in Czechia, left no alternative but to label TikTok a security threat.
