Czech crown jewels to go on display

The seven key holders will open the Crown Chamber of St. Vitus Cathedral on Monday to retrieve the coronation jewels which will go on public display ahead of the country’s general elections, the Office of the President announced. The opening of the chamber requires the presence of all seven key holders: the president, prime minister, parliamentary speakers, the archbishop of Prague, the mayor of Prague, and the dean of the St. Vitus Chapter. The crown jewels, which include the St. Wenceslas crown, scepter, and orb -insignia of Czech kings for centuries -will be displayed at Vladislav Hall from September 18. The exhibition at Prague Castle will run until September 29.
