Czech Centre in Paris opens library with exhibition featuring Milan Kundera’s drawings
The Czech Centre in Paris opened its newly reconstructed library spaces on Wednesday afternoon, after several years of the spaces being closed. The library was “christened” with the opening up of an exhibition of drawings made by the famous Czech author Milan Kundera, which were lent to the library by the writer’s wife Věra.
The library features books belonging to several renowned Czech authors, such as Pavel Tigrid or Prokop Voskovec. A large segment of the collection is also composed of books published by exile publishers, such as Sixty-Eight Publishers, Index, or Svědectví. Furthermore, the library features a small theatre scene, inspired by the Imaginarium exhibition developed by the Forman brothers.
