Czech branch of IPI calls on Motorists’ party supporters to cease threats against journalists

The Czech branch of the International Press Institute (IPI) has called on the Motorists’ party to urge its supporters to stop threatening journalists. It said investigative reporter Zdislava Pokorná of Deník N has received violent threats after reporting on alleged racist, sexist, and homophobic posts by MP and party honorary chairman Filip Turek and other reporters covering the story have faced similar abuse. The Czech branch of IPI issued a statement denouncing this behaviour as totally unaccpetable and calling on the party's leading representatives, Petr Macinka and Filip Turek, to step in and inform their supporters that the matter is being addressed through standard legal procedures.
