Czech audiovisual industry posts record turnover for 2021

The Czech audiovisual industry achieved a record turnover of almost CZK 12 billion in 2021, surpassing so-far the best turnover of CZK 9.46 billion from 2019, the Audiovisual Producers’ Association informed in its annual report released on Thursday.

However, the APA expects the industry to decline in the coming years to the level it reached in 2010, when the industry’s turnover stood at CZK 3.58 billion. According to the association, one of the reasons  behind the expected crisis of the sector is the decision of the State Cinematography Fund to temporarily suspend incentives for foreign filmmakers due to lack of finances.
