Czech and EU leaders meet in Litomyšl for Czech EU presidency kickoff
To begin the Czech accession to the head of the EU Council, the government held talks with EC President Ursula von der Leyen and other members of the European Commission in the Czech town of Litomyšl on Friday afternoon. Among other things, the discussion covered the topics of energy, security, and Ukraine.
Prime Minister Petr Fiala praised France, the previous EU Council leader, for its work after the Russian invasion, saying that the country managed to maintain the unity of the member states in support of Ukraine. He also praised the role the commission played in the preparation of anti-Russian sanctions.
