Czech Airlines announces major round of downsizing
Czech Airlines have told the Labour Office that they are preparing to sack up to 430 employees, the daily Hospodářské noviny wrote on Wednesday. The airline has been heavily impacted by the coronavirus crisis, in debt and cannot expect help from the government. Smartwings, which owns Czech Airlines asked the government for a CZK 1.1 billion rescue package earlier in February, but the request was declined.
