Czech airline Smartwings first to land Boeing 737 in Antarctica
The Czech budget airline Smartwings announced on Wednesday that it has become the first airline in the world to land a Boeing 737MAX on the continent of Antarctica.
The landing was made in the early hours of the day on Troll Airfield on the norther tip of the continent. The flight was commissioned by the company Aircontact and transported members of the Norwegian Polar Institute.
