ČSÚ: Overall confidence in Czech economy rises slightly, consumers still fearful
Confidence in the Czech economy rose by 0.3 percentage points month-on-month to 87 points in August. Confidence among entrepreneurs increased but dropped among consumers, according to the latest Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ) data.
The business confidence indicator rose 0.8 pp to 85.5 and the consumer confidence indicator fell 1.6 pp to 94.4, compared to July. In a year-on-year comparison, however, all confidence indicators remain lower due to the coronavirus pandemic and related measures.
Consumers remain concerned about the deterioration of the overall economic situation. Their concerns about their own financial situation and inflation slightly increased, the ČSÚ said.
